Sorry

I haven't posted on here in a while. I've been trying to aviod the computer//msn and I've been actually doing my homework.

We had an assembly today. It was almost like a youth rally. Some of the stats they had were really depressing. I really did have fun but simply don't have they energy to explain it with the excitement it deserves. I'll write all about it once I've gotten some sleep. TTFN!

Devotions

Here are my devotions for tonight. I'll explain the format.

I went to Boston over Christmas break on a youth convention. One of the speakers there showed us this way. It's long but very effective.

Their Time
A breif explaination of the chapter. (I do each individual story in the chapter).

All Time
Kind of like the moral of the story.

My Time
What you got out of the story. Your reflection. What you want to say to God.

OK here we go.

Exodus Chapter 36 March 12, 2006

Ø Sabbath Regulations

Ø Materials for the Tabernacle

Ø Bezalel and Oholiab

Their time

Ø Moses goes up to the Israelites and tells them not to do any work on the Sabbath or he’ll kill them. They’ve got 6 days to work so there’s no need on the seventh. Oh and by the way, don’t light fires on the Sabbath either.

Ø Moses tells the people who are skilled to build the Tabernacle, the ark, the table, the lampstand, the 3 alters, the basin and the priest clothes. Moses tells the rest of the people to give, as offerings, all the materials he needs to make these things. The Israelites went away and did as they were commanded.

Ø Bezalel and Oholiab were very skilled in craftsmanship and God gave them the ability to teach others. God gave them a gift, taught them how to use it, and they used it for Him.

All Time

Ø The Sabbath is very serious.

Ø God’s people are always at work

Ø Every talent can be used to lift up God

My Time

This chapter is just like reading a history text book. This actually happened thousand of years ago. It’s strange to think that the same God is so demanding. All this has to be done. These days all He really wants is a relationship with you. It’s like he wants you in His club and everyone is welcome there. But to be a part of the club, you have to associate with other members and tell more people about the club and try to get them to join too. And everyone in the club wants to be just like the Leader. And there’s a special day of the week where you go and talk to other club members and listen to speeches made by the Leader through another person in the club. And every day you read the hand book so you can be more like the Leader. And throughout the day you talk to the Leader and get Him to help you with your daily troubles, rejoice in your daily joys, cry in your daily sorrows and talk about your daily frustrations. And eventually, you and the Leader are best friends. That’s all He wants, to be best friends.

Later.

The Chronicles of Narnia

Over the March Break I decided to read The Chronicles of Narnia (one big book with all 7 little books in it). My brother saw the movie, got the book and the game for gameboy (yes go gameboy!). He hadn't opened the book or game yet. I had already read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and since I had nothing else better to do, I figured I might as well read it. I knew that it was writen by a Christian guy and it was a Christian book but what I read I never expected. It really kind of opens your eyes. You really should read it for yourself.

The Lion, Aslan, is Jesus. The Witch, is Satan. Edmund is the sinner. Edmund repented and you think everything will be fine. But the Witch needs a death sacrifice for the sins he has commited. Aslan goes in his place, is tortured and killed.

In another book, a little boy is upset because he thinks he's the most unlucky boy in the world. The Lion appears out of nowhere and asks him why he thinks that. The boy said he was found by a mean fisherman when he was a baby and was treated like a slave his whole life. He went on for a while about his problems but i forget most of it. The Lion explained why all of these things happened. The reason why the fisherman found him was because if he hadn't, the boy would have died. This says two things in my opinion. One, there IS a reason for every bad thing that's ever happened to you. The second is God is always there for you. Just like in the book, we can only "see" God when he chooses to show himself. But just because you can't "see" Him, that doesn't mean he isn't there. (See is in quotations because I have never actually seen God with my two eyes. I can however feel His presence and I know when He's there).

Anyway it's a really good book//series and I think everyone should read it. I have a french speech to write (start) because it's due tomorrow. =) (Please don't tell my french teacher) OK BYE!

Welcome to my Blog

This blog is mainly going to be about one person, ironily enough it's not me. It's the person I owe everything to: Jesus Christ. I will probably talk about my life though because it's centered around Him. It's sad that even though I love Him with my whole being, He just happens to be the person I spend the least amount of time talking to/about every day. Don't get me wrong, I read my bible every night and go to my church 3 times a week (on average). But going to church doesn't make you any more Christian than going to MacDonalds make you a hamburger (yay for KG!). I have a nasty habit of going on the computer and avoiding my homework and sometimes end up avoiding God. Hopefully this will be something that I can still avoid my homework (who does it anyway?) but still connect with God. Hope you enjoy my blog!
